NightSentinel
NightSentinel brings alertness, escalation and accountability to every night-shift team at a BPO — on-site and work-from-home agents, roaming IT and facilities, and housekeeping — through the lightest possible signals, with no cameras, no audio, and full Data Privacy Act compliance.
The challenge
Between 2 and 5 AM human alertness bottoms out — surfacing as dead queues, missed SLAs and safety risk during the least-supervised hours. The obvious responses (webcams, keystroke logging, gotcha screenshots) trade away the trust that keeps good people on a hard shift. AmeeraTel needed alertness and accountability across a distributed, multi-role night workforce without tipping into surveillance, and while staying squarely inside the Data Privacy Act.
The solution
A browser shift console sends a passive activity heartbeat and issues randomised liveness codes agents confirm in seconds — covering work-from-home without a supervisor in the room. Roaming IT and facilities prove presence with checkpoint scans; housekeeping scans 'area cleaned' and the facilities agent verifies it on their round. A missed check never jumps to blame — it climbs an escalation ladder to the nearest teammate who can physically respond, and every outcome is recorded with a timestamped audit trail. AI turns each shift's data into patterns, so leaders review trends rather than watch live feeds.
- Passive activity heartbeat + liveness codes
- Checkpoint scans (IT, facilities, housekeeping)
- Human escalation ladder
- AI behaviour reports & per-date history
- Disclosed, camera-free, RA 10173-compliant
Results & impact
- One system now covers four night-shift roles plus work-from-home agents
- Consistent, timestamped audit trails replace paper logs and he-said-she-said
- Fair, defensible records remove disputes over what happened
- Camera-free, disclosed monitoring preserved trust while establishing accountability
